01

Getting Started

Consultations, suitability and taking the first step.

01Is this for students or parents?+

Both are welcome. Parents typically attend the initial consultation to understand the plan and ask logistics questions, while students often join to hear the diagnosis and ask about specific topics. The format can adapt to what works for your family.

02Is the consultation suitable if my child is already doing okay?+

Yes. Many students plateau at a B or C because of exam-technique gaps rather than a lack of understanding. The consultation separates genuine content gaps from technique gaps because the right fix is different for each.

03How do I book a free consultation?+

Use the calendar on the Free Consultation page to choose a suitable time. The call takes around 20–25 minutes on Zoom, and you leave with a personalised 14-day plan whether or not you continue with tutoring.

04What happens if I miss my consultation slot?+

Use the booking link again or reply to the confirmation email to choose another time. Please give notice where possible so the reserved consultation time can be made available again.

05Do you tutor students outside the UK?+

Tutoring is built around UK A-Level exam boards. Students may be based in the UK or studying the UK A-Level curriculum internationally. Because lessons are online, location itself is not usually a barrier.

02

Exam Boards & Curriculum

Specifications, difficult topics, practicals and embedded maths.

01Which exam boards do you tutor?+

AQA, Edexcel, OCR A and OCR B A-Level Physics are fully supported. Other exam boards, including international equivalents, are reviewed case-by-case during the consultation.

02What is the hardest topic in A-Level Physics?+

This varies by student and exam board. Electric and magnetic fields, particle physics and mathematically demanding mechanics are among the areas that commonly cost students marks.

03Does required-practical content matter for tutoring?+

Yes. Written papers frequently draw on practical methods, data, uncertainty and evaluation even where the practical endorsement is assessed separately.

04Can tutoring help with synoptic exam questions?+

Yes. Students learn to recognise which topics are being combined, identify the relevant relationships and structure multi-part answers clearly.

05Do you cover the maths within A-Level Physics?+

Yes. Mathematical fluency is addressed directly, including rearranging equations, graph interpretation, proportional reasoning, significant figures and applying models to unfamiliar questions.

03

Pricing & Logistics

Fees, commitments, online delivery and scheduling.

01How much does A-Level Physics tutoring cost?+

The Pricing page compares the available small-group and private pathways, including session frequency, support and payment options. The consultation can help identify the most appropriate plan.

02Is there a minimum commitment?+

The realistic programme length depends on the student's starting point and exam timeline. Students with several months available may benefit from a longer structured programme, while students closer to exams may need a more focused block. Exact terms are confirmed before enrolment.

03How are lessons delivered?+

Lessons are delivered live online through Zoom, allowing screen sharing, real-time annotation of past-paper questions and scheduling around school commitments.

04How many sessions per week do students have?+

The published pathways currently include two or three weekly sessions depending on the plan, with priority actions and independent work between lessons.

05What if we need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?+

Reasonable notice allows scheduling changes to be handled fairly. The final cancellation and rescheduling rules are set out in the Terms & Conditions agreed before enrolment.

06Do you offer group tutoring or only one-to-one?+

Both focused small-group pathways and private one-to-one tutoring are available. The best format depends on the student's gaps, goals and required level of individual support.

04

Results & Guarantees

Progress, expectations, online effectiveness and parent visibility.

01How quickly can my child's grade improve?+

The timeline depends on the starting point, the type of gap, consistency and the time available. Technique errors may improve within weeks, while wider content gaps often require sustained work across a term. Individual results vary.

02Do you guarantee a specific grade?+

No tutoring provider can honestly guarantee a specific result in an external examination. The goal is measurable improvement in identified gaps, tracked over time.

03What is the difference between understanding Physics and getting a high grade?+

Understanding a topic in a lesson and reproducing that understanding accurately under timed exam conditions are different skills. Strong performance also requires command-word interpretation, precise working and effective answer structure.

04How do you track progress?+

The Momentum Tracker™ records topic mastery, exam-technique improvement and mock or practice-paper performance so progress is evidenced rather than assumed.

05What happens if my child is not improving?+

The plan is adjusted using the evidence being tracked. Measuring progress makes it possible to change priorities rather than continuing through a fixed schedule regardless of what is working.

06Is online tutoring effective for Physics?+

Online tutoring works well for shared-screen past-paper annotation, diagrams, calculations and real-time problem solving. Families should still consider whether they specifically need in-person practical apparatus work.

07Can you help after an underperforming mock?+

Yes. A recent mock provides valuable evidence. The paper can be reviewed mark by mark to separate knowledge gaps from technique errors and set the priority order.

08Can you help with exam anxiety?+

Tutoring is not a substitute for professional mental-health support. However, uncertainty about what to revise and whether progress is happening can add to exam stress, and a clear plan can help reduce that uncertainty.

09What if my child is aiming for Oxbridge or a top STEM course?+

For students protecting a target A* for competitive courses, teaching can extend into deeper problem solving and maintaining accurate exam execution under pressure. University admission is never guaranteed.

10Do parents receive feedback?+

Yes. Parent visibility is built into the tutoring pathways through progress reports informed by the Momentum Tracker™. Reporting frequency depends on the selected plan.

11What happens if we do not proceed after the consultation?+

There is no pressure or obligation. You still leave with the personalised 14-day plan and can use it independently.

12Is the tutor DBS checked?+

Fariz Siddiqui holds an enhanced DBS check alongside Qualified Teacher Status and more than 15 years of tutoring experience.

13Can I see evidence of past experiences before booking?+

The Testimonials page includes student and parent experiences. Individual outcomes vary and are not guaranteed.

14How do I get started?+

Book a free consultation to review the student's current grade, exam board and target grade, then receive a personalised 14-day priority plan.

15What if my child needs GCSE Physics support?+

The core focus is A-Level Physics for Year 12 and Year 13. Contact Physics Performance Lab to discuss the situation and receive guidance on the most suitable next step.
